I would like to invite you to be part of a very special project we are planning for this coming Mothers day.
If you would like to be part of it, please write the name of your children or child that you would like remembered in the comments section and we will include them in our tribute to you, their loving mothers.

An important update

Dear friends

some of you are still awaiting the completion of requests.
I just wanted to let you know that in the weeks leading up to Christmas my brother was the victim of a burglary that saw the theft of most of his valuable and hard earned photography equipment.
Fortunately, much of this is covered by insurance, but we are still waiting on the arrival of many of his lenses and the equipment he used to take the beautiful photos that many of you have come to treasure.
Richard has taken a photography job for the next two weeks to help pay for some of his equipment that isn't covered by insurance as well and is currently away on a working trip.
I apologise to those of you still waiting. We hope to resume again by the 20th of January.

we have opened the request list for the final time for this year. It will only be open until the beginning of next week.

Each flower we post is unique. Each name we post has a story. An important story.
We would be honoured if you would like to share it with us.
The way it will work is this.
If you have already had your name request placed in Rory's garden, please go to the slideshow with their names. You are then free to post a link back to your blog or the blog post sharing the story of your loved one. Dear Friends,
in a few hours we will begin working on the requests we have received since opening Rory's Garden on Monday.
We will be posting up the beautiful new additions into my brother's garden next week.
We hope to keep doing so on a weekly basis.

We are all proud to be involved in projects supporting bereaved families. As well as working as a team on Whispered Support

Carly works full time running her beautiful website "To Write their Names in the Sand."

Sarah also works for ACER and Richard is a professional photographer who is in increasing demand for everything from high fashion shoots to working with up and coming designers showcasing their new portfolios.

Danielle is one of the most in demand blog designers in the USA

and has worked tirelessly with us on every project we have begun. Her honesty and integrity mean that we are constantly striving for perfection.

Gifts

At present we have two options for purchase.
You have the option of purchasing the rights to the JPEG and printing them yourself in any variety of shape or size. The cost of the rights to the JPEG is $45 AUD. We will remove the watermark and email you a high res JPEG. You are then able to make multiple copies for your own use.
Alternatively you have the choice of purchasing the photos in three sizes:
Small 4"x6" $10 AUD, plus postage and handling.
Medium 5"x7" $24 plus postage and handling,
Large 8"x10" $30 plus postage and handling.
These photos are beautiful tributes to your loved ones and make special gifts for family and friends as well. These photos will be printed in high resolution on matte or semi gloss paper.
If you wish to make an order that isn't one of the options provided here, please email us directly with your request and we will try to fulfil it.
Please allow 2 or 3 days for us to email you the JPEG.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for a printed copy of your photo.

You need to include the name and address you would like the prints delivered to or the email address you would like the JPEG emailed to.

Photo Requests

Thank you for visiting Rory's Garden created in memory of our beloved brother who passed away from SIDS.
The request list is now closed while we complete our Mother's Day Project and fulfil outstanding requests.

Please read the instructions below carefully as we have changed our guidelines

1. We do not charge for requests but any, and all donations are hugely appreciated. If you choose to pay for your $29 JPEG in advance, we will expedite the waiting time to two weeks when this occurs. Otherwise it will usually take up to three or four weeks.

2. Many of you have asked if we can fulfill specific requests for flowers that are special or hold significance for you. We have now added a comment section where you need to specify at least two kinds of flowers. If we have sufficient funding we will try to obtain the flower for you, however there are no guarantees. Seasonal differences may sometimes make it harder for us as well, but we will do our absolute best for you.

2. At this time we are only fulfilling requests on behalf of people who wish to remember and honour their loved ones who have died. It can be family or friends making the request.

3. Please ensure you add our email address to your contact list. Otherwise our email telling you that your request is on the site may be bounced back as spam. onlysayitwithflowers@gmail.com

4. We urge you to please consider purchasing a High Res JPEG for only $29 or multiple 4"x6" copies for $9 AUD (This includes P&H). This will enable us to carry on our work supporting other families enduring loss and grief. Please do not copy these images without our written permission.

Mission

This is a place where bereaved people can have their loved ones honoured. We take requests from families and friends and will write the names of their precious family members or friends on beautiful flowers and post them up on this site.

It all began with the lead up to Mother's Day. I really wanted to do something special for my mother. I knew it would be a hard day. It was her first one without her own mother and it was also the anniversary of the day my baby brother Rory had passed away. As well as that, I wanted to honour the mothers who I have come to know and love who don't have their babies in their arms today.
So I had a long chat with my brother Richard, an incredibly talented professional photographer. We talked about the fact that the essence of our humanity is founded on Hope. We all have different kinds of hope: hope that tomorrow will be a better day, hope that the way ahead will be brighter. Those of us who are religious place great hope in Him. And to me, one of the primary things that expresses the essence of hope is often found in the simplest and most beautiful things, like a flower. So we worked together, me painstakingly writing these precious babies names on the flower and then worked together to create and develop this picture:

Now I'm not particularly creative, or artistic and I find it astonishing that two people who are central in my life, my brother Richard and my friend Carly allow me to work with them, Rich in photography and Carly at Whispered Support. I'm so proud of my brother. His career is really taking off, but he still takes the time to work with me and teach me how to create pictures that I think in some small way are symbols of Hope.
